RO Reuse Rewards
Your spent elements have value. We pay for the good ones.
If you run a desalination plant, your change-out is our raw material. We take the spent seawater elements off your hands, and you earn a reward for every element that qualifies.

The default
Your change-out doesn't have to end in landfill.
32,000 tonnes of spent membranes are thrown away every year, and most still have a sound structure inside. Disposal costs you money, it shows up in your reporting, and the rules around it are getting tighter.
You hand them over. We do the rest.
Tell us the change-out
How many elements, what duty they ran, and roughly when they come out.
We collect
Collection and transport are arranged with you. Elements travel as pre-used filters, which is what they are.
You earn on the qualifying ones
Every element that passes our intake checks earns you a reward. The rest still leave your site.

We collect in our own boxes, by the truckload, and bring the elements straight to our plant.
What you get as a contracted supplier.
A reward per qualifying element
Every element that passes our intake checks earns you a reward, set by its condition.
Nothing goes to landfill
Every element you hand over leaves your site with a route: a second life, or refuse-derived fuel.
An occasional supply of regenerated elements
For your own non-potable duties, as a member of the program.
A sustainability report
Per delivery or once a year, issued by Second Life RO, ready for your ESG report.
What it shows
- Elements you handed overby delivery
- Regenerated, back in usecount
- Rejected, turned into refuse-derived fuelcount
- Plastic kept out of landfill15 kg per element
- CO₂e avoidedup to 1 t per regenerated element
Issued by Second Life RO Manufacturing FZ-LLC, from our intake and production records.
What we're licensed for
We hold manufacturing permits. Spent elements come to us as pre-used filters and we regenerate them into a product. Elements that don't pass become refuse-derived fuel for heavy industry, so nothing is landfilled and no waste is generated.
Every element you hand over gets a route
Nothing you give us goes to landfill.
1 · At your plant
A seawater element runs 3 to 5 years
in a desalination plant, then comes out at change-out.
Landfill The usual end. Not with us.
2 · We collect
Collected and checked at intake
6 checks by hand decide which route it takes.
3 · Passes our checks
Regenerated, tested and supplied for non-potable reuse. The plant earns a reward for every qualifying element.
3 · Fails our checks
Converted to refuse-derived fuel for heavy industry.
What happens at intake
6 checks decide if an element gets a second life.
End caps, feed spacers, permeate carrier, telescoping, the fibreglass shell, and a hand test. An element with a sound selective layer goes forward. One with irreversible damage goes to fuel.
Reject rates depend on how the elements were run, so we won't quote you someone else's numbers. We'll tell you what we find in yours.
What arrives, and what leaves
The 2 ends of the same element.
A spent element comes in fouled, gets counted and graded, and leaves serial numbered in its own carton.
